This year we will organize the class offshore championship for the first time. The factores of the offshore champions are (max 6 different sailors per boat) and Best Owner/Helmsman (all races sailed by the owner) will be determined in races I, II and III (low point/no strikes).

Silverrudder 2021 - the entry list for the worlds largest single-handed regatta

The Silverrudder 2021 was completely sold out once again shortly after registration began. Silverrudder single handed race is the worlds largest non-stop singlehanded offshore sail race ever. Eight Dehler 30 one design owners made it onto the entry list. There are old friends, like Oliver Schmidt-Rybandt, who came second in the class comparison of the previous year, on PowerPlay and Max Gurgel on hornfish. Martin Kringel on Plug & Play and the Swede Anders Jönsson on No Xcuse were newcomers. How many sailors who did not make it is still not yet known. The website of the Silverruddder has now announced August 9, 5:00 p.m. as the late registration date. So if you want to try and register for the largest single handed race in the world, you can make a second attempt. In any case, it will be another exciting single handed sail race. 1st ORC Double Handed European Championship

Sounio, GRE – The Hellenic Offshore Racing Club (HORC) and the Offshore Racing Congress (ORC) are pleased to announce that the entry process is now open for the first-ever ORC Double Handed European Championship to be held over 2-10 July 2021. The event is being held concurrently with the AEGEAN  600, a non-stop 600-mile full-crew race tour of the Aegean Sea that also starts and ends in Sounio.

The ORC DH Europeans is a new event in the portfolio of annual ORC World and European championships, one that harnesses the growing enthusiasm for Double Handed sailing following the proposal by World Sailing for this to be included as a mixed gender two-person offshore keelboat event in the Olympic program for the 2024 Games in Paris.

Aegean 600

On July 4th, 2021, the Hellenic Offshore Racing Club (HORC) in Greece will organize a new 600 nautical mile offshore yacht race. This is a race designed by sailors for sailors in which the sporting challenge will meet the legendary beauty of the Aegean islands. It is the first time the one sea favored by poets, painters and philosophers through the ages, will host such a great offshore sailing event that has both athletic and environmental symbolism, as the message the contestants will convey is “Let’s Save Our Seas”.

58th Aegean Rally

The International Aegean Sailing Rally is a regatta with a long history, organized every year by the HORC (Hellenic Offshore Racing Club). It is the oldest and most splendid sailing event in Greece and is characterized as a Marine Marathon. From 1964 on, it gathers contestants from around the world and Greece at the same time.

Every year most of the Greek boats are present at the starting line. The Aegean Rally sailing competition consists of three or four offshore races, normally starting at the Faliron Bay and ending at Sounio, with stopovers across the Aegean islands. The Aegean Rally runs the best time of the year because of the ideal weather conditions in the Aegean region. Local winds and seasonal winds of 20-30 knots prevail throughout the race. With the sun overlooking the deep blue sea and the Greek summer in its starts, the temperature is just above 30 degrees.
